Elsley One-Way system, Parking and Public Transport

Travelling to and from Elsley Primary School

Aims: Improve safety and reduce traffic congestion.

We have a one-way system for vehicles arriving at Elsley, to help keep our children safe and reduce congestion. The location of our school within a quiet residential setting, creates a challenge for the volume of school traffic to circulate in a safe and orderly manner.

We strongly encourage travel by foot, scooter, bike or bus.

For families and visitors arriving by car, we ask you to avoid parking in the immediate vicinity of the school during peak times. We advise you to park where you can walk the last 5 minutes to school. By allowing more time for your journey, you will be less stressed and be able to park more easily. This helps to reduce congestion, your fitness and mental well-being, and is better for the environment.

Park responsibly and do not block driveways.

Pedestrian and Cycle Zone is indicated in red on the map below. CCTV is in operation. 

Tokyngton Main Entrance: No vehicle access between 8:15am - 9:15am and 2:30pm - 4:00pm.

Berkhamsted Entrance: No vehicle access between 8:15am - 9:15am and 2:30pm - 4:00pm.

A paper version is available on request from the school office.

Berkhamsted and London Rd Footpath gates open 8:45am - 8:55am and 3:15pm - 3:25pm.     

 

Visitors: Use the Tokyngton Avenue Main Entrance.

Our site is very compact; we regret there is no on-site parking unless by prior arrangement. The surrounding roads have unrestricted parking apart from on Wembley Event Days (signposted by Berkhamsted Rd / Harrow Rd. Permit required 10am - midnight) 

Where possible, avoid arriving between 8:30am - 9:15am and 3:00pm - 3:30pm. 

Please report to Reception upon arrival. 

 

Deliveries: Use the Tokyngton Avenue Main Entrance.

No vehicle access between 8:30am - 9:15am and 3:00pm - 3:30pm. 

Switch off your engine when stationary. 

 

Public Transport:

Wembley Central (Bakerloo line, Overground, National Rail)

Approx 12 mins walk via London Road footpath or via Berkhamsted Ave and Harrow Road.

Stonebridge Park (Bakerloo line and Overground, National Rail)

Approx 12 mins walk via Tokyngton Avenue

No. 8 Bus on Harrow Road A404 

Approx 5 mins walk via Tokyngton Avenue and Tring Avenue
