Year 1
Welcome to Year 1 at Elsley Primary School. A time of significant growth as pupils transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into more structured learning. Our Year 1 children build upon their early literacy and numeracy skills, diving deeper into reading, writing, and mathematics. We encourage curiosity and critical thinking through subjects like Science, Geography, and Art, allowing children to explore the world around them. With a focus on developing independence and a positive attitude towards learning, Year 1 is where children begin to see themselves as confident and capable learners.
